The Phoenix Centre for Children and Families will be able to bolster their crisis and trauma services thanks to the 2018 McHappy Day. Every year, McDonald’s Canada franchisees and staff across the country celebrate this annual day of community giving in support of Ronald McDonald Houses and other local children’s charities. On May 2, McDonald’s restaurants in Petawawa and Pembroke raised $7,827.94 for the centre. The cheque was presented on June 4. Many of the centre’s staff also volunteered their time during the McHappy Day and this not only helped raise money but awareness for the centre and its services.
