Heritage Society hosts its 18th and final Annual Charity Golf Tournament
2018 was a great year for the Petawawa Heritage Society as it held it 18th Annual Charity Golf Tournament. We are sad to say this will be the last tournament we will be hosting.
Over the years the community businesses have showed their support through prize donations and purchasing holes. The merchants in Petawawa are the best - they are always generous in supporting heritage and culture in our community.
Victor Jackson, Donna Gagnon and Frank Nash have been the back bone of our golf tournament for years. They have been the best volunteers and event coordinators an organization could ask for. Their dedication to the Heritage Society has been outstanding. With the recent loss of Frank Nash and Victor turning 90 we decided it was time to close this event. They would have been one hard act to follow.
I want to thank Cheryl Gallant, John Yakabuski, and Mayor Bob Sweet for their support over the years. It was always great to see you on the course.
Many of our players have been with us from the start. The dedication of these people, who come out year after year, have made it possible for the Heritage Village to reach the success that it has. The money raised from the Tournament has always gone into whatever addition that we have planned at the village and this year is no different. We are working to complete the church and the construction or our new General Store.
Once again thank you to everyone.
