Military Wives Choir performs last concert of the season

The Petawawa Military Wives Choir ended their musical season with a concert at the St. George’s Chapel on June 10. The room was filled to bursting as people came out to support these musical entertainers. As well as the concert itself, there were raffles, a bake sale and a piano solo by Ivan Barney. Following in the footsteps of the UK Military Wives Choir, the Canadian version includes members that are connected to the military either by marriage, partnership or occupation. In Petawawa, it has grown from a dozen singers to 67 members in three years. As well as singing locally, they’ve performed in some incredibly high visibility venues including the Invictus Games in Toronto to the Illumination Ceremony at Parliament Hill. It is lead by musical director Sosun Suh and supported by countless people within the community. For more information on the choir, please contact canadianmwc.petawawa@gmail.com.
