More than 1,500 students from high schools across Renfrew County attended Options 2018, what is known as the largest skilled trades career fair for students in Eastern Ontario. As well as the opportunity to learn about a host of different career paths, about 250 students participated in 15 skills competitions which included welding, fantasy hairstyling, small engines, nail art, desktop publishing, baking and carpentry. Held on May 16 at the Pembroke Memorial Centre, this award-winning trades fair has helped many senior high school students reconsider what they wish to do once they leave high school. Results for the skills competition can be found at www.algonquincollege.com/pembroke/options.
