PEMBROKE - At the Feb. 2 meeting of Pembroke City Council, members of the newly created Diversity Advisory Committee were appointed.

The City of Pembroke received an overwhelming number of applications from community members interested in joining the Diversity Advisory Committee, making for a tough decision for council in the appointment process.

“It was wonderful to see how many people in our community felt passionate enough about diversity, equity, and inclusion to apply to be a member of the Committee,” said City of Pembroke Mayor Mike LeMay. “I look forward to working with the members of the Diversity Advisory Committee to make Pembroke a more welcoming place for everyone.”

The Diversity Advisory Committee will hold their first meeting in early March.
