News from the Catholic Women’s League

Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Womens League annual June Dinner was celebrated on Monday June 6th at the Petawawa Legion hall. The Legion Auxillary ladies served a wonderful roast beef dinner and delicious dessert.
CWL President Joanne Jefferies presented Pins to a number of the League members who had been in the League for many years.The recipients and years are as follows: 80 Years - Jeannine Mohns; 70 Years - Theresa Arsenault and Doris McCutcheon; 65 Years - Delores Caverly; 60 Years - Diane Brown, Diane Clouthier, and Huguette Clouthier; 55 Years - Peggy Conrad; 40 Years - Anita McGean, Ann McIntyre, Sheila Croteau, and Cathy B.Huckaboam; 30 Years - Jody McDonald, Claudette Balkam, Debbie Clouthier, Lilian Donnelly, and Diane Brown; 20 Years - Ann Bain, Sheila Recoskie, Leah Teschner, Rose VanHoof, and Karen Roosen; 10 Years - Brenda McCarthy, Nancy Caverly, Margie Galway, and Julie Pilatzke.
Welcome to new members Patricia Steele, Linda Halmwood, Rubi Pilatzke, Kim Clouthier, Lynda Fynn and Ann Tracy.
Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Women’s League will award bursaries to two graduating students from Bishop Smith Catholic School. They will continue with their education in the Fall. Congratulation to the recipients, Ella Etmanskie and Mathew Rodrigue.
Julie Mallory was presented with her Maple Leaf Service Pin for serving eight years as Petawawa CWL President. Julie is currently serving as CWL Diocesan Treasurer.
CWL Meetings will continue on September 12, 2022 with a guest speaker.
