The Silver Threads Seniors Club is currently conducting its membership drive for the fiscal year 2018-19. The cost of the membership is only $25 for the year. The club offers lots of activities such as Swedish Weaving, Fitness three times a week, Bridge, Bingo, Bid Euchre, Tole Painting, Yoga, Line Dancing, Painting (Acrylics and Water Medium and others), Quilting, Regular Euchre, and Fitness Room. Dinner/Dances, Seminars, Bus Trips, Spring and Winter Teas and Jam Sessions.

Thursday, April 5 at 1 p.m., the club is holding a Scam Seminar and it will be conducted by an OPP officer form the Community. Refreshments will be served, and there will be lots of information for you and your friends, family and neighbours to take away with you to fight the scammers out there in the community.

The tickets for the Western Dinner/Dance are on sale at the office. The cost is $25 for members and $30 for non-members. We will have a delicious meal cooked and served by Schmidt’s Catering. The music is by Bob Landry and Bob Madill. We will have a door prize, a 50/50 draw and a raffle basket. Wear your favorite jeans and come out for a fun evening. Doors open at 5 p.m., and supper is served at 6 p.m.

There will be a Community Open House on Thursday, April 12 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Civic Centre to create a plan for Petawawa’s Active Transportation. This will be a good opportunity to have your say in what goes on in the Town of Petawawa. Mark this important date on your calendars. Do you have some ideas on Transportation in the town, bicycle paths, walking paths, buses, etc.

This month the Cancer Society is launching its drive for Daffodil pins, so if you can assist in any way, contact the Cancer Society in Pembroke and volunteer for the cause.
