$1,000 for Upper Ottawa River Race & Paddlefest

Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL) recently made a donation of $1,000 to the Upper Ottawa River Race & Paddlefest. Hosted by both Pembroke and Petawawa, the Upper Ottawa River Race & Paddlefest is scheduled for August 5-7. The event will open on Friday evening with a free viewing of the Reel Paddling Film Festival at Riverside Park in Pembroke followed by a Paddle Camp Jam and campfire. Saturday will feature the first Annual Upper Ottawa River Kayak Fishing Derby at the Petawawa Point as well as a series of paddling races, the largest being a 13 km paddle from Petawawa Point to Riverside Beach. There are also several short circuit races, demos, challenges, clinics, games and vendor displays. On Sunday, Stand UP for CHEO launches from Petawawa Point.
