Catch the Ace is coming soon to Petawawa!! We are in the set-up phase of organizing this game and hope to have it on the go soon. Keep an eye on this article and on our Facebook page for more details. We just need to make sure all the “I”s are dotted and “T”s crossed before it starts.

Legion Week runs from 17-23 September and kicks off with the General Meeting. A full programme of activities will be listed later.

BBQ this week is chicken, sausage and foot-long hot dogs with salads served from 4:30-6 p.m. on Friday, August 11. Everyone is welcome so bring the family. The BBQ will be in the lounge.

We are still looking for volunteers to work our Fish and Chips on Fridays from September to May. We are looking for enough volunteers to put together four teams. We will train for all positions. Looking for cooks, platers, those to take plates out to the hall from the kitchen and a dishwasher. You can get friends together to form all or part of a team that we can fill in. If you would like to help, call Helene at 613-687-6783 or leave your name and number at the branch.

Our upstairs hall is available to rent for functions, big or small, and you can do on-site catering from the Ladies Auxiliary. You can also book the downstairs lounge that includes use of the patio and BBQs. Call Liz weekday mornings from 9:30-noon at 613-687-2504.

Branch elections will be held in nine months and while that seems far away, it is not. If you are thinking about running and not sure about what the job is about, then now is the time to find out. Approach the person in the job now or ask any executive member who can steer you in the right direction. You may even want to join the executive now to get an idea of the jobs.
