At our bingo Sunday, July 16, Civitan President Darlene Lambert and Civitan Vice President Brian Miner presented Monique Yashinskie, board member with Hope Reins War Horse Project, with a cheque of $3,000 to look after our adopted horse, Maggie. Maggie and the other horses at Hope Reins are of great help in managing the after-effects of trauma. The War Horse Project is for Veterans and First Responders. This is one of the organizations the Greater Petawawa Civitan Club helps every year.

The Greater Petawawa Civitan Club is looking for volunteers to join our great group of people. If you can spare four to eight hours a month at no cost to you, come see us. Find out what Civitan is all about and what we are doing for our community and area.

If you are new to Petawawa or have been here for some time and are looking for something to do and a way to get to know people, come on out to Civitan Bingo and talk to Civitans Darlene, Brian, Chuck, Faye, Hoppy, Marie, John, Donna F., Cathy, Donna H., Marie M., Peggy, and Joan. We all work the Bingo most Sunday nights. You will find me in the canteen most Sundays; if not me, it’s Civitan Peggy.

When you come to the bingo the first two people you most likely meet at the door are Civitans Hoppy and Faye. You will find Civitans Brian and Darlene in the back of the canteen. Civitans Chuck and John are our bingo callers. Civitan welcomes all the new people who are moving in to Petawawa and area. You will find that Petawawa has alot to offer you and your children. Now if you are being posted back to Petawawa. you will find it a bit bigger than when you left and there is still lots to do. Welcome back and hope to see you at our Civitan bingo.

Well myself and hubby will be heading down to NB, NS, and Cape Breton in August to see family members. I will see you all again at the end of August. I hope you all have a good summer and, like I said, don’t complain about the hot weather - it won’t be long before the snow will be falling again and all that cold weather sets in.

Well I hope to see you all at the Bingo on Sunday night. The doors open at 5:30 p.m., early bird games start at 6:30 p.m. and regular games start at 7 p.m. So come and join in the fun and meet other people and have chance to win some big money. The 52 special, if it does not go, will go up $100 each week until it does. If it reaches $2,000, it will go that night. There are lots of other great prizes to be won every week. So come and support the Petawawa Civitan Bingo.

Remember when you support the Greater Petawawa Civitan Club Bingo you are helping us support those in our area that need help and thank-you to all of those that have supported us over the years.

That’s all for this week, God Bless.
