GARRISON PETAWAWA – Garrison Petawawa will once again celebrate Family Day with Department of National Defence (DND) employees and Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) personnel by hosting a free admission event for all members of the community on Saturday September 9, 2017 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
“I am delighted to invite everyone to the annual Garrison Family Day. Our families are the backbone of our organization. They provide the behind the scenes support which allows our military and civilian personnel to focus on the mission. This is also a fantastic opportunity to celebrate with the community of Petawawa with whom we share an incredibly close and supportive relationship” said Garrison Petawawa Commander Colonel Louis Lapointe.
“Garrison Family Day has become, over the years, a must-attend summer event for our military families and our community. It is a great opportunity to meet and socialize with other members of the community, learn more about the various roles and capabilities of each unit, and celebrate our achievements. The event is open to all and is a great opportunity for our newly posted members and their families as well as those who have lived here a long time to get together and get to know one another,” said Garrison Petawawa Chief Warrant Officer CWO Tom Verner.
Some of the highlights for this year’s event will be a large selection of military static displays, entertainment by the 2 CMBG Pipes and Drums, a kiddie commando course, colour run, live entertainment, and so much more. The MasoniCh.I.P Child Identification Program will be on site for anyone wanting to register their children. A full schedule of events can be found at www.cafconnection.ca.
