Pembroke proclaims Feb. 26 as National Cupcake Day in the city
Posted on Thursday February 22, 2018
PEMBROKE - Mayor Mike LeMay officially proclaimed Feb. 26 as National Cupcake Day in the City of Pembroke at the Feb. 6 council meeting.
He and council encourage residents to support the day by stopping by City Hall (1 Pembroke St. E.) between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. Feb. 26 to pick up a cupcake – or even a pupcake! – and make a donation to the Renfrew County Animal Centre.
This is also a perfect opportunity for residents to purchase their 2018 cat/dog tags at the early-bird price, or get their 2018 Bark Park tag.
“The City is happy to be the Animal Centre’s new home, and to support this organization in its work to provide shelter and care to animals in need,” said Mayor LeMay.
National Cupcake Day is a coordinated Canadian effort to support local shelters, SPCAs and Humane Societies, which was raised $2.45 million since its inception.
