In support of the Government of Canada’s commitment to reduce our carbon footprint and greenhouse gas emissions, the Department of National Defence (DND) and the Canadian Armed Forces have developed an integrated strategy to transform our approach for energy and environmental management.
The new Defence Energy and Environment Strategy (DEES) builds on Strong, Secure, Engaged: Canada’s Defence Policy. It recognizes energy and environment as key enablers of the DND mission and provides a common vision and goals to help us manage energy and the environment holistically, across the broad spectrum of Defence activities in the Department, and in the Navy, Army and Air Force.
The targets outlined in this strategy will help us meet our environmental and greenhouse gas reduction goals.
