This Sunday, Feb. 11 is the branch youth public speaking contest in the upstairs hall. Speeches will start after registration at about 1 p.m. so if you would like to come out and hear some very good speakers, you are welcome to do so.
On Saturday, Feb. 17 is a dance in the upstairs hall with the John Priebe band playing from 8 p.m.-midnight. There will be spot dances and a late snack, so bring your friends and enjoy a fun evening out. Everyone is welcome.
Coming up on Saturday, Feb. 25 is our annual Chili Cook off. You will be able to come in and sample all the chilies and vote for your favourite to crown a champion. If you think you make the best chili and would like to have the chance to prove it, you can register by calling Frank at 613-633-8436. Anyone can enter.
If you are looking to file a military disability claim and are not sure how to do it, or are having difficulty with the paperwork, our Veterans Service Officer can help. You do not need to be a Legion member. If you would like help, contact Paul at 613-639-3236.
Our membership chairman would like to remind members that it is not too late to pay dues for 2018. Drop into the branch and pay at the bar or mail it to 3583 Petawawa Blvd.
If you are planning a function in the upcoming months, give Liz a call at 613-687-2504 or email at firstname.lastname@example.org. We have the best rates around and a lounge for smaller gatherings that can be used for free. We specialize in large functions for catering so smaller ones are a snap.
Catch The Ace is over $8,500. Have you got your ticket yet?? Stop into the branch during regular hours and pick one or more up and who knows you may be the lucky winner. Everyone can buy tickets if you are 18 and over.
Weekly fish and chips continue on Fridays from 5-6:30 p.m. and soup and sandwiches Wednesdays from 11:30-1 p.m.
