I think the big freeze is finally coming to an end. You know it’s cold when the key freezes in the lock of the door. Ensure you have all your warm gear in the car, just in case of an emergency.
Cabin Fever is coming up during the week of Jan. 22 to 26. A Bridge Tournament will be held on Monday at 1 p.m. on Jan. 22. There will be cash prizes and bracelets are available. A Bid Euchre Tournament will be held on Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. on Jan. 23. A Regular Euchre Tournament will be held on Friday, Jan. 26 at 7 p.m. Food and refreshments will be served.
Cabin Fever Chili/Soup will be held on Thursday, Jan. 25 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., there will be tea and coffee, and dessert available for all who attend. The cost is minimal and a bracelet is not needed. Bring a friend and come out for lunch.
Tickets are now on sale for the Fabulous February Dinner/Dance. The food is catered by Schmidt’s and the music is by Bob Landry and Bob Madill. We will have a door prize, a 50/50 and a raffle basket. The cost of the dinner/dance is $25 for members and $30 for non-members. This is a fabulous evening for such little cost, so grab your partner or come out as a single and enjoy the fun and shake off some of the winter blahs.
The bus trip, Come From Away, is being offered by Ottawa Valley Tours and the trip date is June 5-6 and August 14-15. The list of names of members who are interested in this trip must phone 1-613-723-5701 or 1-800-267-5288 and ask for Sharon. A deposit of $100 will save your seat on the bus and the hotel room. The balance is to paid by Apr. 9. Everyone will be staying at the Delta Toronto East Hotel or similar. The play is at the Royal Alexandria Theatre. Day two will depart for Prince Edward County to enjoy a delicious buffet brunch at the historical Waring House Inn in the town of Picton. We will have a tour and tasting at the Waupoos Estate Winery before returning home.
All regular activities will be commencing this week at the club. Dust off those runners and come out for fitness and all the other fun things that you enjoy.
The Seniors Club is located at 1163 Victoria Street, Petawawa. The phone number is: 613-687-6574 and email us at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
