Hello everyone, here I am once again with just a bit of news from the Greater Petawawa Civitan Club.

We hope that everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. It was great having a few days off and to get some badly needed rest.

Now just a reminder that the Greater Petawawa Civitan Club holds their Bingo every Sunday night at the Petawawa Civic Centre. We are upstairs and the doors open at 5:30 p.m. Early Bird games start at 6:30 p.m. and the regular games start at 7 p.m. You must be 18 years of age or older to play bingo in Ontario. There is a canteen with lots of goodies for sale and we will also have fresh hot popcorn once again.

Did you know that The Greater Petawawa Civitan Club made donations of over $8,216.87 to organizations in our community from Oct. 1, 2017 to Dec. 17, 2017? This is because of the support of the people who keep supporting our Bingo. Without the support of the bingo players, we could not help those in our community who need help. Here are just a few groups that we support: Heart & Stroke Foundation, Juvenile Diabetes, Special Olympics, St. Joseph’s and Salvation Army food banks in Pembroke, the Deep River and Petawawa Pantry food banks, Carefor Pembroke for transportation for those in our area who need to go for treatment outside of Pembroke and Petawawa, Ottawa Heart Institute, Garrison Petawawa PSP Special Needs Camp, CHEO, OPP Dare Program, Pembroke Regional Hospital, Petawawa Community Clinic, Robbie Dean Family Counselling Centre, Petawawa Civic Centre Days, Cancer Society, Petawawa Legion Community Band, Petawawa Library, Silver Threads Seniors, and the War Horse Project. I could name so many others that we help that it would take over half a page. So you see The Petawawa Civitan Club members are working very hard but we need your help so come and support our Bingo.

By the way, we are looking for people to come join our great club - there is no cost to you to join us. If you would like more information about Civitan and what we do, we hold a meeting the second Wednesday of each month at the Civic Centre upstair starting at 7 p.m. or you can speak to one of us at the Bingo. Oh if see me out and about just ask about Civitan and I will be happy to tell you a bit about Civitan.

That’s all for now and God Bless.
