Once again here I am with just bit of news from the Greater Petawawa Civitan Club.
On behalf of the Greater Petawawa Civitan Club, I am trying to raise money for a special wheelchair swing for our park by the Civic Centre in Petawawa. The cost of this swing is around $20,000. So I have placed bottles in different places so you can make your donation towards this swing. If everyone in Petawawa could please donate just one dollar, I am quite sure we could raise the money in a very short time. This swing is to help those in a wheelchair enjoy some time at the park, so please help. Thank you to all those who have already made a donation for this special cause and for all your support over the years when you come to our Bingo every Sunday night.
We still have our Bingo every Sunday night. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and the 52 Special has started all over again and will go up each week until it gets to $2,000 and then must go. It has gone in 49 numbers so, as I have said before, it could go at any time.
By the way, have you registered for our Fishing Derby that will be held on August 17 at the park in Pembroke? Please call Civitan Brian Miner at 613-687-4503, Civitan Allen Stewart at 613-735-3791 or Civitan John VandenBaar at 613-717-5674 and they will get you all set up for a great day of fishing. Bring all your family with you, there are some really great prizes to be won. How about the $2,000 grand prize? Sign up now!
We are now in the month of July and the kids are out of school. So please keep a lookout for children playing outside. Sometimes they forget about the dangers around them. Help keep our children safe!
Hope to see you all at our Bingo Sunday night and bring a friend with you. Remember you must be 18 years of age to play Bingo in Ontario.
That is all I have for you this week, God bless.
Thought for the week: May I do the best I can this day!
