DEEP RIVER - The Deep River Yacht and Tennis Club offers a summer sailing program of instruction and fun racing for youth and adults. Daily (9:00 AM to 4:00 PM) junior sailing classes for youth aged 8 - 17 start July 8 and run each week until August 16. A supervised lunch break is available, helpful for out-of-town students. Weekend adult sailing classes consist of 12 hours of instruction in a classroom and on the water. Participants have a choice of weekends: July 13 - 14 or July 20 - 21. All classes are taught to the Sail Canada curriculum under the direction of qualified instructors, with safety boats present at all times.

We also offer Casual Sailing Monday evenings at 5:00 PM, when club members and sailing school students can take out a club dinghy with instructors and a safety boat in attendance.

Dinghy races for sailors of all skill levels, with their own boat or club boats, are held every Tuesday evening. Rigging starts at 5:00 PM with the first race at 6:00 PM.

Not sure if sailing is for you? Join us for a free trial sail with a qualified instructor on July 4, 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM or 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM for ages 8 and up with no sailing experience. If possible, bring a PFD that fits you. Meet your instructor at the Deep River Yacht and Tennis Club waterfront, 34 Pier Road, Deep River. No registration is required.
