The Canadian Military Wives Choirs Petawawa has been invited to perform at the 2017 INVICTUS Games in Toronto. It is a great honour to be asked to sing at the opening ceremony on Sept. 23, as the two-hour show will be broadcast internationally. Though they wish to attend, there are travel costs involved for these volunteer singers. To mitigate this, the choir is hosting a variety of events in the upcoming months. The first Spring Fundraising Concert was held on April 30 at the Wesley United Church in Pembroke. It showcased songs such as Lean On Me, Hallelujah, Pack up Your Troubles and Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy as well as a special guest performance by Ivan Barney. The choir is led by Conductor Sosun Suh. After the concert, guests were invited downstairs for refreshments and a bake sale. (Photo by Patricia Leboeuf, Petawawa Post)
