The Silver Threads Seniors Club is located at 1163 Victoria Street in Petawawa.  The Club age of the members is 50 years and up, and we have activities for all of these age groups.  We have Zumba classes for the younger set, and also for those of us that are always up for a challenge and any help that enables us to keep moving.

The Quilters meet every Friday and it is an all day event of sewing.  Last Friday, Donna and her group of sewers, had at least six tables put together and on them were a multitude of small quilt squares.  It is amazing to see these women planning, placing all of those squares in a pattern that they can sew and the result is a creation that any artist would be paid huge bucks for their talent.  These ladies spend an enormous amount of time giving back to the Community, with their quilting lap quilts, wheel chair quilts and quilts that organizations can raffle and make money for their organizations.  Come out and see these artist at work.

The Club is open for the summer and the hours for the office are:  Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. You can phone us at 613-687-6574 and e-mail us at The building has air conditioning and we have an elevator for anyone who may have mobility concerns.

The following activities are available during the summer months. Mondays: Zumba at 10 a.m. and Bridge at 1 p.m.; Tuesdays: Bingo starts at 1 pm and we have 20 regular games with Jackpot, and 50/50. Tuesday evening at 7 p.m. is Bid Euchre; Wednesdays: Weight Watchers meet downstairs at 6 p.m.; Thursdays: Yoga at 9:15 am and Acrylic Painters at 10 a.m.; Fridays: Quilters downstairs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Euchre at 7 p.m. in the upstairs lounge.

The winners of the Friday evening Euchre were:  Helen Sack, Mary Stevens, Diana Bohnert, Lou McEvoy, Shirley Mielke.

Drop in and see us during the week and maybe you can join a progressive and fun Club in our Community. Have a good summer and I will see you at the Club.
