Slated for June 16 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Petawawa Civic Centre, Krista’s Father’s Day Vendor Show will showcase specialized men’s interest booths in addition to craft show vendors.

There will be about 120 local sellers with their wares so a wide variety of products will be available for purchase just in time to pamper dad.

This craft and vendor show is the first men’s interest show that organizer Krista Cliche has put together; typically, her shows have a more feminine slant. “I think I’ve covered everybody’s tastes,” said Cliche. “I have beef jerky, I have hot sauce, I have BBQ people and I have a lot of men themed items.”

The show also has an altruistic slant.

Though entry is free, people are invited to donate money to the Telus ATV Ride for Dad which will be held in Pembroke on Sep. 28 at Mile Marker 9 on Barron Canyon Road. The costs per participant is $30. The fundraising ATV ride raises money for funds to support research for prostate cancer and raise public awareness of the disease.

It made sense to support them at her show. “Fighting prostate cancer goes hand and hand with Father’s Day,” pointed out Cliche.

Other local charitable organizations and groups have also been granted a free booth in order to promote their causes. This will not only allow them to have greater reach but will also allow newcomers to learn about what is available in the area.

“I wanted to not only let them see what we have as crafters and vendors and local businesses in the area, but I also wanted to let them know that there are so many amazing charities and non-profit organizations in the area,” said Cliche.

There will be more than just vendors at the show.

There will be free balloon animals at the Heritage Knowledge First Booth and a chance to win a $5,000 RESP. There will also be Sing Song Telegrams and costumed characters such as Sully, Honey Bear, Cinderella and Spider-Hero.
