D-Day: June 6, 1944. The day the Allies turned the war around and started the beginning of the end for Nazi Germany. The ranks are very thin for those who are still with us and remember the horror that occurred. Seventy-five years seem like a blink of the eye for them. May we never forget.
Our first BBQ will be held on Friday, June 7 in the upstairs hall. There will be pork chops or chicken legs as well as salads on the menu. Join us from 4:30-6 p.m. The BBQ on the 14th will be ribs and hot dogs. Everyone is welcome.
On Saturday, June 15 there is a dance in the upstairs hall with Michael Curtis and the Slags playing and doing their show from 8 p.m. to midnight. Great entertainment on so grab your friends and come on out for a fun evening. Small cover charge but includes a late lunch and spot dances. Open to all age of majority.
Zone golf is taking place on Saturday, June 22 at the Oaks of Cobden. If you are a member in good standing and would like to participate, sign up on the board outside the main lounge. Three categories: Regular, senior, super senior and ladies. Two person teams.
We are still looking for a few volunteers to fill out our BBQ teams if you can spare a couple of hours one Friday a month we could use your help. With four teams it would only be twice during summer. Contact Ralph at 613-687-4797.
