The Petawawa Catholic Women’s League met for their monthly general meeting recently. The Opening Prayer (Hail Mary) was lead by Eva, and dedicated to cancer patients.
The first new business of the meeting was the presentation of the 2018 budget which was approved and a motion was carried.
Friendship Sundays have begun again for winter and spring. The next ones will be Mar. 4 and Apr. 8 following the 10 a.m. Sunday Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows church. Everyone is invited to share coffee/tea and food.
The World Day of Prayer will be attended by League members on Friday Mar. 2 at 7 p.m. at St Francis of Assisi Chapel, Garrison Petawawa, featuring the country of Suriname. CWL members from various local churches will share spiritual readings and fellowship.
Parish photo books are being organized for the month of May on Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and other days from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Stations of the Cross: Father Ballard has asked for assistance in leading the Stations of the Cross at our church during Lent. CWL will provide leadership and the Knights of Columbus will assist in leadership as well.
The Petawawa CWL meetings will soon have guest speakers and some suggestions were discussed for further arrangements.
The CWL Religious Article Store is open following each Mass at Our Lady of Sorrows. There are numerous articles available icluding Rosaries, books, holy medals, cards, crosses, first Communion and Confirmation items etc.
The next CWL meeting is Monday, Mar. 5 in the Parish Centre at 7 p.m.
