Helping Hands Thrift Shop holds food bank drive

Submitted

Posted on Thursday May 3, 2018

For the month of March 2018, the Helping Hands Thrift Shop (formerly the Base Thrift Shop) held a food bank drive.

We asked our customers to bring in non-perishable items and for every item brought in, they would receive a free piece of clothing.

We could not believe the outpouring of kindness from our customers. Our goal was to try and fill an SUV but to our surprise, we not only filled the SUV but half filled a second car.

We delivered these items to the Petawawa Pantry in time for Easter and are proud to say our customers and staff donated 450 pounds of food.

Way to go, great job and we thank you so much.
