Mayor reflects on busy 2016
2016 was an extremely busy year for Petawawa. A number of new businesses opened in town and revenue from commercial and residential building permits have more than doubled, going up by nearly $38 million. The town has also collected about $37 million in various fees, “which will go a long way to assist us with some of the challenges that we’ve got,” said Mayor Bob Sweet. Click for more.

Vipers wrestlers bite competition
This past Saturday, the Mat Rat Division of the Local wrestling club competed in an Ottawa tournament that saw wrestlers coming from as far away as Timmins and Nova Scotia. Competing in the National Capital Wrestling Tournament was a great experience for our local team commented Mat Rat Head Coach Shohannah Smith-McClure helping them see what work needs to be done before competing in the Provincials in April and the Eastern Canadians in Moncton NB in May. Upcoming Changes to CAF Pension Contribution Rates
Pension contribution rates for Canadian Armed Forces (CAF) members who contribute under the Regular Force or full-time pension plan (Part I of the Canadian Forces Superannuation Act (CFSA)) will increase in 2017.
