Vigil held in Petawawa to mark National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women
On December 6, the National Day of Remembrance and Action on Violence Against Women, several dozen people encircled the Renfrew County Women’s Monument in Petawawa to mourn and celebrate the lives of 14 female students lost to a senseless act of violence at L’École Polytechnique 29 years ago.

Garrison Petawawa wraps up National Defence Workplace Charitable Campaign with $75,000 donation
GARRISON PETAWAWA - Garrison Petawawa wrapped up its National Defence Workplace Charitable Campaign (NDWCC) with a cheque presentation to the Renfrew County United Way on Thursday November 29th at the Commanders Christmas Cocktail party.

$2,275 donation from R.E.D events
The Petawawa Military Family Resource Centre (PMFRC) received a $2,275 cheque from Cheyenne Astle (second from right) who, in the past few months, has organized several events including Run to R.E.D. (Remember Everyone Deployed), Ride to R.E.D. and a tattoo fundraiser and donated the collected money to the PMFRC and the Padre’s Christmas Hamper Fund.

I want to thank all those who took part in our Santa Claus Parade in Petawawa on Nov. 18 and a special thank you to Arthur, Sheena and Darlene for helping get the float decorated. Arthur also used his truck to pull the float. Thanks to Civitans Donna Forget, Darlene Lambert, Brian Miner and Millie Hall for giving out the candy to the children. Others who took part were Aaryana, Xavia, Verity, Marie and Bill Arnold. Glad it was not too cold or windy this year.
