Concert benefits PMFRC, 42nd Field Artillery Regiment
Country singer Aaron Pritchett took Festival Hall by storm as he kicked off the second leg of his “Out on the Town” tour.

Para Company, 3 RCR – First Choice for Operations
0500, H-Hour. The soldiers of Victory Company (V Coy – 32 CBG) are being ferried across the water to close with and destroy their enemy. Tension fills the air with the anticipation of engaging in light infantry shock combat. V Coy’s mission is being supported by the 3rd Battalion, The Royal Canadian Regiment (3 RCR) and various brigade enablers. Direct Fire Support Platoon and Mortar Platoon are smashing the enemy’s beach defences from afar while the Assault Pioneers facilitate the assault water crossing. Once the soldiers of V Coy make landfall, the enemy on the beach is already on the brink of defeat.

Ethanol-fueled appliances pose serious fire safety risks
TORONTO — Jon Pegg, Ontario’s Fire Marshal, is alerting Ontarians to the significant fire safety risks associated with ethanol-fueled appliances, commonly known as tabletop fire features or pots.

Automated Species at Risk Monitoring
Most people know that species at risk are protected at Garrison Petawawa, but many people don’t realize just how we know what species are here and where they might be found. We find out a lot of our information from conducting good old fashioned fieldwork or even incidentally from others who have documented sightings while in the field. Another, more high-tech, approach that we have recently adopted involves the use of automated recording devices.

During Garrison Petawawa’s Garrison Family Day, SISIP Financial had a special draw for a $150 CANEX gift card. The family event was held on Sept. 7 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Dundonald Hall sports fields.

Get to the Point Beach Festival
Hundreds came out to experience the beauty of the Petawawa Point on Aug. 24. The Get to the Point Beach Festival is in its second year and unlike traditional activities at most festivals, this one had a more grassroots, alternative, holistic feel and included activities such as fire dancing, hula hoop sessions, drumming classes, Stand Up Paddling (SUP), yoga, paint classes, crafting, didgeridoo teachings, vendors, water activities and much more.

The Garrison Petawawa Environment Services Team
The 4th Canadian Division Support Group (4 CDSG) Garrison Petawawa Environmental Services team is made up of eight Department of National Defence (DND) employees that support a variety of environmental programs and initiatives that support activities and projects for 4 CDSG, 2 CMBG Units, Lodger Units and Real Properties Operation Unit – Detachment Petawawa. They work together to ensure compliance with federal environmental legislation and policies and to ensure the protection of the local natural environment.
