Good Ancestor Exhibition Opens in Petawawa
Petawawa, ON. (October 22, 2021) — Ottawa Valley Community Arts (OV-CAOS) is unveiling the latest installment of their Pop Up Art series at DunDonald Hall, Garrison Petawawa. The Good Ancestor exhibition asked 14 artists from across the Ottawa Valley to consider what it means to be a good ancestor. They answered that question through their art, creating drinking vessels they imagined sharing with both their ancestors and descendants. Artists worked in a variety of mediums from fibre and ink to glass and found objects.

The Ontario SPCA recognizes cats in wartime with new
commemorative Animals in War Pin

Stouffville, ON (Oct. 12, 2021) – The Ontario SPCA and Humane Society has released a new commemorative Animals in War collectible pin featuring a cat as this year’s symbol to honour the wartime contributions of animals. The new pin goes on sale today leading up to Remembrance Day.

Walk For The Wounded 2.0 raises more than $70,000
Military members, veterans and First Responders pushed themselves to the limit by walking from Garrison Petawawa to Ottawa, raising over $70,000 for Wounded Warriors Canada.

Spooky Movie Night at Skylight Drive-In October 16th
The City of Pembroke and the Township of Laurentian Valley are happy to be teaming up again for Spooky Movie Night at the Skylight Drive-In. This free movie night will take place October 16th and gates will open at 5 p.m. The first movie will start at approximately 6:30 p.m. followed by the second at approximately 8:30 p.m. The two spooky movies that will be shown are Hotel Transylvania followed-by Goosebumps.
