The Petawawa Catholic Women’s League is having a Christmas Market on Saturday, December 4 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows church hall, Mohns Ave., Petawawa.

Due to Covid restrictions, we are unable to hold our Christmas Tea this year. It will be replaced by our new Christmas Market and we hope for good attendance. The market will consist of a bake table with goodies of squares, cookies etc. A prepared foods table will have such items as soup, beans, chili etc.

In addition to the baking and prepared foods, we will have tables of crafts, Glitz and Glamour, small raffles, Bargain Shop, Religious Articles and a 50-50 draw. A number of vendors will be present as well, for your shopping.

Our Christmas Dinner will be held on Monday, December 6 at the Petawawa Legion Hall . This will be a turkey dinner and tickets are available from CWL members or the Religious Article Store after Saturday and Sunday Masses. The tickets must be purchased by November 21, 2021. Proof of Vaccination will be required to attend.

On Monday November 1, 2021 a Memorial Service was held to honour our deceased members. Deacon Dan led the service.

The CWL Baby Layettes are being collected once again throughout November and will be presented to the Pembroke Regional Hospital Maternity floor.

Items that can be donated are: Newborn sizes (0 to three months) of diapers, onesies, receiving blankets, facecloths, sweater sets, hats, socks, soothers, and wipes. No lotions, powders or liquids please. Donations may be dropped off to the Religious Article Store after weekend Masses or  brought to our Christmas Dinner. Thank you for all your donations last December 2020.

Membership dues for 2022 can be remitted by placing your membership fee of $25 in the collection basket at Mass. Please include your name, address, phone number and email address.

We continue to collect the Hyska’s Your Independent Grocer store receipts.  They must be valued at $25 or more and stamped by the cashier. The receipts can be deposited into the yellow box located on the table next to the Religious Article Store, in the church hall.
