We have a busy weekend and week coming up. On Friday we have our first draw of Catch the Ace at 6 p.m. following our first Fish and Chips of the season. Get your tickets for the Catch the Ace before 5:45 to get yours in the draw. Pot is progressive so it grows every week until the Ace is drawn. Come out and have fish/chicken strips/wings with fries, onion rings or both. We do small or regular portions and do take-out, so bring the family and enjoy. We serve from 5-6:30 p.m.

Also on Friday the 8th, we have the Provincial golf players coming in to register for the tournament on Saturday. On Friday night we also have entertainment by the Rivervibes in the lounge starting at 6 p.m. Enjoy your fish and chips and the Catch the Ace draw, then head downstairs and enjoy some good music. All events are open to the public.

On Thursday, September 14, the Ruck to Remember in support of the Joe Sweeny Fund that assists Leave the Streets Behind to get Veterans off the street, leaves from our branch. You can come and see them off at 9 a.m. as they step off on their way to their first stop in Cobden overnight on their way to Kanata for the 17th. Any donations can be dropped off at the branch and if you would like a receipt, leave your name and address and one will be mailed to you. The marchers hope to raise as much money as they can to support our Veterans and get them off the street. Please donate if you can.

Mark your calendar for September 17 as we are having a delicious roast beef dinner with Yorkshire pudding, potatoes, veggies, salad and dessert. Bring the family for an easy Sunday supper that everyone will enjoy.

Days for Christmas parties (yes I know that is a bad word this early) are starting to be booked. If you are looking for a fantastically decorated hall and catering that can be done on site by the Ladies Auxiliary for a full meal or just a late lunch then give Liz a call weekday mornings at 613-687-2504 to book your date.
