The Grade 5 and 6 students of St. Francis of Assisi participated in Me to We, a non-for-profit social enterprise that donates half of its net profits to partner WE Charity, formerly known as Free The Children. The students sold rafiki bracelets to raise money for both Me to We as well as local organizations. With an additional $160 to distribute in the community, the students decided to help both animals and children by choosing the Ontario Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (Ontario SPCA) Renfrew County Animal Centre, and the Pembroke Salvation Army as their beneficiaries. On Dec. 5, they presented cheques of $80 to each organization.
