News from the Petawawa Legion

We have activities coming up this month for you to mark on your calendar so as not to miss. On Jan. 21 we have the Cabin Fever Breakfast from 9:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. Full breakfast of bacon or sausage and eggs, toast, beans, home fries, juice and tea/coffee. A great way to start your day. Later in the day is the General Meeting starting at 3 p.m. so we ask the membership to attend and be seated by 3 p.m.

On Jan. 27 we have Landry and Madill playing in the upstairs hall from 8 to midnight. There will be spot dances and a late snack. Open to all so bring your friends.

Fish and chips have started up so join us every Friday from 5-6:30 p.m. for fish, wings or chicken strips with fries, onion rings or both. You can buy your Chase the Ace ticket at the same time for the 6 p.m. draw. Tickets for Chase the Ace can be purchased at the downstairs bar daily during regular hours. The numbers are going down so your odds are going up. Everyone welcome to join us for fish and chips and purchase tickets. (Age of Majority) Don’t forget to stop in for soup and sandwich Wednesdays from 11:30 a.m. - 1 p.m. They have a different soup every week and two types of sandwiches on the menu. Open to all.

Another successful toy drive and food hampers has wrapped up for another year. It could not have been possible without all the people who made it happen. The Truckers lined up some cash and toys and the support from the community and businesses was incredible. All the hard work paid off with many families having a happier Christmas and a table full of food. Naming everyone would take more than one article so instead of risking missing someone I am going to say thank you to all who made this happen.

If you have not paid your dues for this year you can still do so at the bar or mail them to the branch. Don’t lose your years of membership that helps our veterans.
