News from the Greater Petawawa Civitan Club

Have you heard what the Greater Petawawa Civitan Club is up to now? First of all they are selling hot dogs at the Bingo as of May 6 and Civitan Marie said she would still have a few sandwiches, too. They also have nice hot popcorn.

The Greater Petawawa Civitan Club, along with the Pembroke Civitan Club, will be holding a Fishing Tournament on August 18 at the Pembroke marina. If you would like to register, you can go to the Carefor website. You can also contact Civitan John VandenBarr at 613-717-5674 or Civitan Allen Stewart at 613-735-3791 for information. We invite all you fishing enthusiasts to come out and see what you can do. There will be some great prizes and I hear there will also something for the kids. So come on out and have a good time.

Now if you are a newcomer to the Petawawa area and would like to meet some new people, we welcome you to come out and enjoy a night of bingo. Let us know if you are a first timer and we will make sure to answer any questions you might have about our bingo. There is always someone there to help - even our bingo players. You must be 18 years of age to play bingo in Ontario. Remember: when you support the Greater Petawawa Civitan Club Bingo, you are helping us support those who need our help. Thank you! Our Bingo is held every Sunday night at the Petawawa Civic Centre. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., early-bird games start at 6:30 p.m. and the regular games start at 7 p.m. Hope to see you there on Sunday.

The Greater Petawawa Civitan Club will be holding their next regular general meeting on Wednesday, May 9 at 7 p.m. upstairs at the Petawawa Civic Centre.

Turn to the right at the top of the stairs and we are in the room at the end of the hallway. Come and see what Civitan is about and find out what we are doing for our community.

That’s all for now; God Bless and be happy.

Thought for the week: One person can do something, but two or more can do a lot more.
