PETAWAWA – 2642 3 RCR Royal Canadian Army Cadet Corps (RCACC) resumes its first weekly training session at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, September 4, 2018, marking its sixtieth year in operation.

2642 3 RCR RCACC encourages all local youth between 12 and 18 years old that seek dynamic, challenging, well-organized activities and are passionate for the outdoors to enroll in Petawawa’s local Army Cadet Corps.

Cadets meet regularly every Tuesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. The Army Cadet training program is free of charge and offers a wide range of activities and courses while meeting the interests of youth such as leadership, physical fitness, citizenship training, adventure training, survival, navigation, precision marksmanship, and much more.

Cadets participate in an array of community service activities, sports, courses like First Aid, and weekend field exercises throughout the year. Cadets from 2642 3 RCR RCACC also strive to experience additional local or international multi-day expeditions and summer camps as well as dedicate time to training for its competitive air rifle marksmanship, biathlon, and precision drill teams.

Captain Destiny Genoe along with Cadets will be spearheading an Open House for interested recruits and their parents on Tuesday, September 18, at 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at 21 Langemark Road, Korea Hall, Bldg 0-9 in Garrison Petawawa.
