This Sunday, February 24 we are holding a full roast beef dinner from 4:30-6 p.m. Join us for Yorkshire pudding, mashed potatoes, veggies, salad and dessert to go with your beef. We will also have a limited amount of Chicken Swiss available. Our hall is fully accessible and we welcome everyone to join us.
Our youth public speaking was held on February 17 and while there were less competitors than in previous years, the quality of the speakers and their speeches more than made up for it. The time that was put in by the students was evident. The topics were informative and interesting. I even learned some things. I will have the results posted in next week’s column.
Coming up on March 3 will be another breakfast from 9:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Full breakfast of eggs, bacon or sausage, hash browns, beans, toast, juice, tea/coffee. Pancakes and cheese omelettes also available.
If you are having problems navigating the disability pension paperwork from VAC, our Veterans Service Officer can help you. Also, if you are a widower or widow requiring assistance or info on what benefits you have going forward, our VSO is your guy. Chairman Paul Paris can be reached at 613-639-3236.
Our Catch the Ace continues and tickets can be purchased at the bar during regular hours or in the upstairs hall on Fridays during Fish and Chips from 4:30 until the draw at 6 p.m. Everyone 18 and older can buy tickets on the draw. Come in Fridays enjoy your meal then witness the draw.
Wednesday luncheons offer a different soup each week as well as egg sandwich and a different meat each week. Lunch runs from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Everyone is welcome.
