There are more options than ever before for students graduating high school. The annual Options Skilled Trades Career Fair is held each year to show teens the wide variety of lucrative careers they could choose that don’t require a Bachelor’s degree. The one-day-showcase was held at the Pembroke Memorial Centre on May 15, coming back for its 17th year. More than 2,500 students from schools across Renfrew County were invited to take part in the fun and learn about trades or other career paths that may intrigue them. As always, the event featured a competition where students could try their hand at 11 skilled trades such as hair styling, photography, small engine mechanics, welding and more.
