Dear CCMS: International Conflict Resolution Day

Dear CCMS: I heard it was the International Conflict Resolution Day on October 17th 2019. What does this day signify?

You heard right! International Conflict Resolution Day (ICRD) is an annual event on the third Thursday of October. This day celebrates Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) and the promotion of peace building options to resolve conflict. DGICCM has Conflict Management Practitioners that assist both Military and Civilian DND Employees resolve conflict at the lowest level.

Here are some benefits of using ADR:

  1. All of our services are voluntary, confidential and free.
  2. YOU have control over the outcome. Together with the other party, you create a solution that is mutually beneficial.
  3. ADR is designed to create win/win solutions, rather than winners and losers.
  4. Less time is spent in conflict when you resolve your conflicts at the lowest level.
  5. Relationships can be greatly improved through ADR.
  6. Our practitioners are trained, professional, and ready to assist you.

Please contact your CCMS office to find out what we are doing locally to celebrate.

Happy International Conflict Resolution Day!
