News from the Petawawa Legion

On Saturday, Oct. 19 there is a dinner and dance at the Petawawa Legion. Meal of roast beef or chicken is served from 5:30-7 p.m. with a dance starting at 8 p.m. with band Lock Stock and Barrel playing. Everyone is invited to come out to the meal but dance is age of majority.

On Saturday, Oct. 26 we will be holding our Halloween dance in the main hall from 8 to midnight-ish with doors opening at 7:30 p.m. Music by Wayne Lance Group. Late light lunch included in your small entrance fee. Get your costume ready and have a ghoulishly fun time. Costume judging will be happening so pick your best. Open to all age of majority.

Tickets for our Armistice Dinner on Saturday, Nov. 9 will be available starting Wednesday, Oct. 16. The meal this year is roast beef or chicken. If you have served or are serving in the Canadian military, your meal and that of your spouse or escort is free. We value our freedom and we value our veterans so this is a chance to honour you with a dinner. Tickets can be picked up at the bar by showing your ID card or proof of serving. Have a hard time getting downstairs? Tickets are also available at Friday fish and chips from 4:30-6 p.m. in the main hall. The public is also invited to attend at a cost of $20.

Soup and sandwich Wednesdays continue from 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. The following is the soup for the next few weeks: Oct. 16 - chicken vegetable; Oct. 23 - beef vegetable, Oct. 30 is chili and Nov. 6 is hamburger macaroni. Open to all.

The Poppy Campaign begins on Friday, Oct. 25. Poppies will be available at a lot of places around town and we encourage all to wear a Poppy. All money raised during the days leading up to Nov. 11 goes to the Poppy Trust Fund to be used for veterans. We thank you for your support.
