News from the Silver Threads Seniors Club
The Town of Petawawa is ablaze with the colours of Autunm, so be sure and go for a walk in the neighbourhood and indulge yourself in this beautiful time of the month. The scenery at the Catwalk is spectacular.
This weekend, we will be having Petawawa Ramble and you can come for a walk to the club and see paintings and other artwork, and then take some cherished pictures of the Petawawa River. If you take pictures up at the top of the park, then you can walk down the stone steps and enjoy the spectacular view. Check out all of the activities for the weekend of October 19 and 20 and be sure and pick up a map of the fun at any of the businesses in town.
The dinner/dance tickets are selling well and we have planned a fun evening for everyone, so come in and get your tickets. The cost is $25 for members and $30 for non-members. Schmidt’s is the caterer and we have a delicious dinner with main course, lots of assorted salads, dessert, tea and coffee. Bob Landry and Bob Madill will provide the music and if you love the music of the 50s and 60s, then you will love to dance to the tunes that we all remember from years ago. We will have a raffle basket, a 50/50 draw and door prize. Come on out for a nice evening with your friends and family.

We are planning a bus trip to Ottawa on Wednesday, Nov. 13 to the shopping centre Place D’Orleans. The bus will leave the seniors club at 9 a.m. and return to Petawawa approximately 5 p.m. The cost is free to all members and we will have lunch at the shopping centre. The winners of the Friday evening Euchre games were: Vern Stressman, Royce Slater, Pat Mathewson, Shirley Mielke and Jean Hines.
