News from the Greater Petawawa Civitan

Oh my, here we are in September and the kids have gone back to school and we at the Greater Petawawa Civitan Club are getting ready for upcoming events that will be taking place this fall and winter. Where has the summer gone?

We are still trying to raise money for a wheelchair swing for Civitan Park right by the Petawawa Civic Centre. We still need to raise about $10,000 so I, along with the help from other members of Civitan, will be holding bake sales and raffles. As well, we are asking for donations so we can get this swing set up so those who are in a wheelchair can enjoy some time at the park with the rest of the family. We still have a collection bottle at Rona in Petawawa - I want to thank Rona for their support. You can also make a donation at our bingo Sunday night. Now if you know me, I would love to take your your donations, or you can see Civitan Brian Miner or Chuck Arnold. Just tell them it’s for the wheelchair swing. We want to thank all those who have already donated and bought the goodies we have had for sale at the Bingo.

Just remember: when you support the Greater Petawawa Civitan Bingo you are helping us help those in our community who need our help.

We were so happy to see some new faces at the Bingo and we hope you enjoyed yourselves and come back again.

We need more volunteers and there is no cost to join us. We just ask for a bit of your time. So come and talk to one of us at the Bingo or if you see us out and about, we are happy to tell you about Civitan.

Now I hope to see you all once again at our Bingo as the 52 Special is getting up there once again. Did you know that we had a winner of the $1,000 jackpot in 49 numbers and the second jackpot went in 50 numbers? So you see the jackpot can go at any time, just remember you must be at least 18 years old to play Bingo in Ontario.

That is all I have for you this week, God bless.

Thought for the week: Money can buy many things but it can’t buy true love.
