The Garrison Petawawa Environment Services Team

The 4th Canadian Division Support Group (4 CDSG) Garrison Petawawa Environmental Services team is made up of eight Department of National Defence (DND) employees that support a variety of environmental programs and initiatives that support activities and projects for 4 CDSG, 2 CMBG Units, Lodger Units and Real Properties Operation Unit – Detachment Petawawa. They work together to ensure compliance with federal environmental legislation and policies and to ensure the protection of the local natural environment.

Michelle Perry, the Garrison Environment Officer, oversees management of the environment services programs and the Garrison Environment team. She provides environmental advice, guidance and support to all units at Garrison Petawawa. Michelle develops local environmental policies that are essential to providing support to military training and sustaining the range and training area, while maintaining compliance with environmental legislations.

Nicole McGregor, the Assistant Garrison Environment Officer, works directly with the 2 CMBG Units and Lodger Units in Petawawa, providing training, advice and assistance in environmental assessment preparation for Unit exercises.

Environmental Compliance Officer, Meghan Hendry, manages the contaminated sites program, ground water and surface water monitoring programs.

Matthew Cybulski, Garrison Petawawa’s Environment/Wildlife Technician, manages the Species at Risk program and wildlife management. He works with both military units and Real Property Operations Unit _Detachment Petawawa to determine any environmentally sensitive areas or species that should be avoided. Matt is also responsible for training and awareness of the Nuisance Bear Management Program.

Dalyce Vermette, the Environment Services Environment Officer, and Environmental Advisor’s Tamara McCadden and Dwight Brown, primarily provide environmental support and guidance to Real Properties Operations Unit Detachment Petawawa to ensure new construction and infrastructure projects adhere to environmental legislations.
