News from the Petawawa Legion

Why cook this Sunday? We are holding a roast beef or chicken Swiss dinner this Sunday, September 22 from 4:30-6 p.m. Full dinner including Yorkshire pudding, potatoes, veggies, gravy, salad and dessert plus tea/coffee. A great deal and a reduced cost for children under 10 so bring the family. Our hall is fully accessible. Everyone welcome.

Elvis will soon be in the building and he is bringing Buddy Holly with him. Both will be rocking the Legion on Saturday, September 28 so drop into the branch and pick your tickets up at the bar soon. Tickets are going fast so don’t wait much longer. There MAY BE tickets at the door but tickets are limited so don’t count on it. Open to all age of majority.

Our Poppy Chairman is looking for some volunteers to help during the Poppy Campaign so if you can spare a bit of time for this very worthy cause that helps our Veterans, please give John a call at 613-401-8158. We are also looking for some volunteers to help with our Friday fish and chips. People who take the plates out, do dishes, put food on plates etc. If you can help, call Ralph at 613-687-4797.

Catch the Ace is in full swing now and the money raised helps the community. We were able to donate to the Petawawa Food Pantry, local flood relief, the Robbie Dean Family Counselling Centre, Camp Maple Leaf and the War Horse Project from the last Catch the Ace run. Help us to help others and buy your ticket at the bar. The pot grows weekly and tickets can also be bought at Friday fish and chips. Draws are Thursdays.
