Civitan Club donates $9,000 to local food banks

The Greater Petawawa Civitan Club made a donation totalling $9,000 to area food banks. The Petawawa Pantry, the St. Joseph’s Food Bank and the Deep River and Area Food Bank each received a $3,000 donation on Dec. 22. The money was collected from the popular bingo game held on Sunday evenings at the Petawawa Civic Centre. Funds raised from the game have allowed the Civitan Club to help multiple individuals and groups within the Ottawa Valley. The food banks are just the latest to receive this generosity. The cheques were presented in front of the crowd to show just how much their support is appreciated.
