News from the Silver Threads Seniors Club

Happy New Year to Everyone! We are into another wonderful year and it will be a busy one for the seniors who are members of the club. We have had a good holiday with lots of family and friends. It’s time to get back to fitness and wear off all of the delicious food that we ate during the fun times over Christmas.

The club will be open on Monday at 9 a.m. for all of the activities for 2020. Bridge will take place at 1 p.m., so grab a partner and come out and play a serious game of cards. Unfortunately, the Yoga instructor has had a little mishap and there will not be any Yoga until January 13.

Bingo will be back in swing at 1 p.m. on Tuesday with a 50/50, and regular games with a terrific jackpot. We have refreshments and food, it is a nice afternoon with friends. Bid Euchre takes place in the evening at 7 p.m. Junko Essentrics is a go at 10 a.m. for a dynamic session of Tai Chi and yoga.

Wednesday is fitness with Deborah and this will be the new year class. If you want to stay fit or are looking for a fitness class, this is the spot for you. It is geared to seniors and it helps the body and the mind to stay in shape. Tole Painting takes place in the Activity Room at 10 a.m.

Thursday, mornings there will be Water Media with Audrey and her friends, and if you have a talent for painting, then this is the class for you. It’s a good time to get together and have a chat and produce some nice paintings. We also hang member’s paintings in the hall for sale.

Friday at 10 a.m., Junko will be in house again to put us through our paces. These exercises are a form of movement without music, and it is good for your joints. Bring your yoga mat and your enthusiasm and enjoy a new type of fitness for 2020.

Fridays is all day Quilting at the Seniors club, and of course Friday evenings at 7p.m. is Euchre.

Jan 10 at 1 p.m. is a session on Mug Painting; sign up on the bulletin board upstairs.

Jan 23 at 1 p.m. is Meditation with Kyla Romain. Everyone is welcome for this session.

The dates for Cabin Fever are on the bulletin board and we will be having a Soup/Chili Luncheon in January, more information to come in the next week once we are all back and set to go for another year.
