Co-written by Great Big Sea founder, renowned mental health advocate, and recent Order of Canada recipient Séan McCann and his wife Andrea Aragon, ONE GOOD REASON is a powerful musical memoir that leaves no stone unturned. Detailing in powerful and lyrical prose a Newfoundland childhood indoctrinated in strict religious faith, the creation of the wildly successful Great Big Sea, and the battle with alcoholism that nearly cost them everything, McCann and Aragon offer readers a story of reaching international fame and finding rock bottom. Most of all, this book is an honest, raw, and inspiring tribute to embracing the belief that we are all worth saving.

The last two years have been extremely difficult for everyone and the negative impacts of social isolation on our collective mental health will linger long after this pandemic is over. Music is strong medicine and Séan has spent the past decade singing and sharing his story with front line workers, teachers, students, patients, inmates, veterans, and anyone who struggles with their mental health.

Andrea is the daughter of a Vietnam war veteran and the fiercely loving mother of two growing boys, two indifferent cats, two bad dogs, and the long enduring wife of one very loud Shantyman

On SATURDAY FEBRUARY 4TH Séan and Andrea will be on stage together at Festival Hall to share stories of resilience from their national bestseller and songs of celebration in support of the Robbie Dean Centreand the very necessary work that they do every day in our own community.

TICKETS are $31.50 and available at festhall.ca or the Festival Hall box office and $25 of every ticket sold goes directly to Robbie Dean Centre.
