Garrison Petawawa Public Servants,

This year marks the 30th annual celebration of National Public Service Week. Instituted in 1992, National Public Service Week sets out to recognize the value of the services rendered by federal public service employees and their tireless efforts on behalf of the Government of Canada.

On behalf of the more than 6,000 Soldiers, Sailors, Aviators, Special Forces Operators, and their families at Garrison Petawawa, Acting Formation Sergeant Major Buchanan and I wish to express our gratitude and appreciation to all National Defence and Non-Public funds employees. Their hard work and dedication ensures that Garrison Petawawa continues to operate effectively and efficiently year after year.

National Public Service employees at Garrison Petawawa provide the support necessary for Garrison Petwawa to deliver on its mission of supporting the Division and the Canadian Armed Forces as a whole. The professionalism they show day in and day out is recognized and greatly appreciated by all who live and work on the Garrison.

As we look forward to warmer months and a busy summer, we hope that Garrison Petawawa’s Public Service employees are able to take a moment to reflect on the important part they play in ensuring the Garrison is ready and able to respond when needed. As we face new challenges, and continue to adapt to the old, I have no doubt that Petawawa’s Public Service employees will persevere with tenacity and resilience.

In closing, we would like to thank you all, once again, for the outstanding work you do. The Training Ground of the Warriors would not be the same without you.

Sincerely,

J.D.V. Vas, Colonel
Commander 4 CDSG

T.B. Buchana, Chief Warrant Officer
Acting 4 CDSG Formation Sergeant Major
