News from the Petawawa Historical Society

The Petawawa Heritage Village is having an Opening Weekend Event on Sunday, July 3 from noon until 4 p.m. Buildings will be open and staffed by our volunteers. The public are invited to come out and experience what it would have been like to live in this area over 100 years ago! Admission is by donation.

The Petawawa Heritage Village will also be opening for tours daily (Tuesdays to Saturdays) starting on Tuesday, July 5 until the end of August. The costs of admission is $8 for adults, $6 for students, children under age five are free.

Membership in the Petawawa Historical Society is open to anyone who is interested in the achievement of the Society’s goal of preserving and promoting the history of the community. The cost of membership is $15/individual, $25/family. Members receive free admission to the museum and all special events.

High school students who wish to volunteer their time are welcome to come to the Village on Monday mornings throughout the summer (excluding statutory holidays) from 9 a.m. until noon, to join our work crews who maintain the buildings and grounds.

The July meeting is taking place Wednesday July 20 at 7 p.m. at the Petawawa Civic Centre. New members are always welcome.
