NOUVELLES DU CLUB CIVITAN DE PETAWAWA
I am back with just a bit of news from the Greater Petawawa Civitan Club.
For all of you who have been asking if we have our Christmas cakes – yes we do. If you would like to purchase our Old Fashion Claxton Fruit cakes, they are available at the Petawawa Canada Post, Bower’s Esso and Grocery, and Civitan Sunday night Bingo. You can also order through Facebook, by emailing Petawawacivitanclub.weebly.com, or call Marie Arnold at 613-687-8463 or Brian Miner at 613-687-4503. Remember that all money raised by the Greater Petawawa Civitan Club stays in our area.
At this time we are also raising money for our new Wheelchair Swing. We hold a 50/50 draw every Sunday night at our Bingo and we also have a collection bottle at Rona Petawawa. The total cost for the swing is approximately $54,000, about double what it was when we started this fundraiser. Thank you to everyone who has supported this project to date.
We still have our Civitan Bingo every Sunday night at the Petawawa Civic Centre. Everyone over the age of 18 is welcome to play. Doors open at 5:30 p.m., early bird games start at 6:30 and regular games start at 7 p.m.
As we enter the month of November we will also be getting ready for Christmas and New Year’s. I will be writing this column for a few more weeks as I am planning on retiring in the New Year from writing only. That’s all for now, take care and God bless you all. Have a great week.

Je suis de retour avec quelques nouvelles du Club Civitan de Petawawa.
Pour tous ceux d’entre vous qui ont demandé si nous avons nos gâteaux de Noël - oui nous en avons. Si vous souhaitez acheter nos gâteaux aux fruits de Claxton, ils sont disponibles au bureau de Canada Post, Bower’s Esso and Grocery et au Bingo de dimanche du Club Civitan. Vous pouvez également commander via Facebook, en envoyant un e-mail à Petawawacivitanclub.weebly.com, ou en appelant Marie Arnold au 613-687-8463 ou Brian Miner au 613-687-4503. N’oubliez pas que tout l’argent amassé par le club reste dans notre région.
En ce moment, nous recueillons également des fonds pour notre nouvelle balançoire en fauteuil roulant. Nous organisons un tirage 50/50 tous les dimanches soirs durant notre bingo et nous avons également une bouteille de collecte chez Rona Petawawa. Le coût total de la balançoire est d’environ 54 000 $, soit environ le double de ce qu’il était lorsque nous avons lancé cette collecte de fonds. Merci à tous ceux qui ont soutenu ce projet à ce jour.
Nous avons toujours notre Bingo tous les dimanches soirs au centre civique de Petawawa. Toute personne de plus de 18 ans est la bienvenue pour jouer. Les portes ouvrent à 17 h 30, les parties lève-tôt commencent à 18 h 30 et les parties régulières commencent à 19 h.
Alors que nous entrons dans le mois de novembre, nous nous préparerons également pour Noël et le Nouvel An. J’écrirai cette colonne pendant encore quelques semaines car je prévois de prendre ma retraite au Nouvel An.
