People have the opportunity to win a brand-new 2020 Toyota GR Supra while helping the Pembroke Regional Hospital (PRH) provide stellar care to its patients.

Only 14,000 tickets are available for the Auto Lotto for Health Care, with proceeds going to the Pembroke Regional Hospital Foundation’s (PRHF) “Cancer Care Campaign.”

The hospital is hoping to ease the burden for local cancer patients traveling to other cancer facilities for treatments by renovating their own facilities.

“We need things at the hospital, and we have a couple of projects we are working on, and this particular auto lotto is going to be part of our brand-new campaign,” said Roger Martin, Executive Director for the PRHF.

Petawawa Toyota donated the lottery’s grand prize.

“Petawawa Toyota has always been in our corner, so to speak, at the Pembroke Regional Hospital, so we thank them for that,” Martin said.

This isn’t the only time the dealership has shown generosity towards the local hospital, and the Lapointe family is well-known in the area for their ongoing support.

“My mother always used to say that charity always began at home,” said Jimmy Lapointe, owner of the dealership, pointing out that he chose to donate the Supra as it is unique, exclusive and quite in demand

The tickets are priced at $25 each or five tickets for $100. The grand prize will be announced on Dec. 8.

There are two early bird draws. The Nov. 2 prize is a Big Green Egg Grill, provided by RG Dick Plummer and the Nov. 23 prize is a Husqvarna snow blower, provided by Huckabone’s Equipment.

The “Cancer Care Campaign” will help fund much-needed renovations of the PRH cancer treatment department and upgrade the necessary equipment to make a difference for patients and front-line workers.
